Bird Outing at Point Au Roche

Enjoy a morning of birding with a walk along the lake! This walk will pass through several shrubby and forested habitats before reaching the tip of Long Point with its panoramic views of Lake Champlain. Expect to see a variety of songbirds, waterbirds, and possibly more! The trail is approximately 2 miles round trip with gently-sloping grassy, rocky, or dirt paths. Trail conditions may be muddy in places depending on weather.

Bring: Binoculars, snacks, water, and dress for the weather

Location: Point Au Roche State Park, Deep Bay parking lot. From the Point Au Roche entrance sign, continue on Point Au Roche Road another ½ mile east to the intersection with Camp Red Cloud Road (across from Point Au Roche Lodge). Note the sign for Point Au Roche Outdoor Interpretive Center (87 Camp Red Cloud Rd.). Turn right onto Camp Red Cloud Rd., follow to the end. The road becomes unpaved half-way in.
