“Slow Birding” encourages you to take your time and observe the behavior of individual birds in their natural habitat. How do you do that from a boat? Great question! This trip is done in war canoes, meaning you can enjoy looking for and watching birds while one guide slowly moves you through the water and the other guide helps you identify what you are seeing. These trips take place on the Saranac River (Great Blue Herons, Belted Kingfishers, Warblers, Osprey, Bald Eagles and Hawks) and Little Clear Pond (a popular place to see Loons). Mikayla Ploof (wildlife photographer and Northern New York Audubon board member) will be our birding expert for these trips.
Cost: $85 per person
