NNYA Farm Grant

Northern New York Audubon’s Farm Grant program provides education and funding to local farms to support the protection and expansion of bird-friendly habitats. Farms provide vital habitat for a variety of bird species and serve as islands of habitat for critically declining grassland and shrubland species. The diversity of farms in our territory provide many unique opportunities for conservation.

The Farm Grant program will build relationships between farmers, land managers, and birders by providing education sessions for farmers, organizing volunteer days, scheduling bird walks on funded farms, and encouraging our members to shop locally from small farms.

Grants are awarded in late winter so that projects can be implemented in the spring and summer. We will be organizing fundraising events and volunteer days this summer to raise funds for our next cycle and help with the implementation of current projects. Want to learn more? Email us at farmgrant@nnya.org to learn more about our application process, or to join our mailing list so you are the first to hear about opportunities to get involved!
