Bird Outing at Point Au Roche State Park

  • Point Au Roche State Park 19 Camp Red Cloud Road Plattsburgh, NY, 12901 United States (map)

Join us for a morning of birding at beautiful Point Au Roche State Park, where lake views and diverse habitats make for an exciting spring outing. This guided walk follows the shoreline and passes through a mix of shrubby and forested areas before reaching the tip of Long Point, where participants will enjoy panoramic views of Lake Champlain.

Along the way, we’ll look and listen for a variety of songbirds and waterbirds, and you never know what surprises spring migration might bring. This outing is a great opportunity for birders of all experience levels to explore one of the North Country’s most scenic birding locations.

The walk is approximately 2 miles round trip on gently sloping grassy, rocky, and dirt trails. Trail conditions may vary depending on the weather, and icy or muddy sections are possible, so please come prepared.
